We are introducing a new section on Nature & Environment in The Bangalore Review. For this section, we seek submissions of poetry, fiction and essays (opinion pieces, book reviews, criticism, etc.) written around the subject of nature & environment.
The focus is broad and could include works on climate change, global warming, marine pollution, species extinctions, environmental hazards and so on. We would also love to read works written on issues that are ignored by mainstream media, or raises questions that haven't been asked as often as should have been. We are generally not inclined to publishing academic essays/articles.
- Essays: 800 - 4000 words
- Fiction: 4000 words
- Poetry: Up to 4 poems per submission, no limit on lines
We will be publishing only one piece at the most in each issue, starting from September 2019. For each work published in the Nature & Environment section of The Bangalore Review, an unnamed sponsor will pay US$ 100 to the author of the selected work.
Note: We charge a nominal submission fee of $3 per submission. Submission fees are non-refundable. This fee will help cover submission processing fees, hosting fees and ongoing operational costs.
